Been a long time since my last post, but doesn't mean fishing is slow! I have just been super busy and booked solid. Since my last post, we were entering a little bit of a lull on the striper fishing. It wasn't bad by any means, but it was like "where is the bio mass of keepers?" Manolin Charters was still doing well catching about a dozen schoolies with 1-3 keepers in the mix per trip. We experimented with some new areas both far and near with some great success. My clients have enjoyed the change of scenery and the catching.
Lately, the bite as been outstanding. We are catching some both quality and excellent quantity of both sides of the tide! Also, we are getting fish throughout the entire tide instead of just a specific hour or two. This past week has felt like June from years' past. It's been so, so good.
My memory is a little foggy on specific details at the moment from the past month, but we have had days doing some really cool and successful fishing towards the middle/end of June. Plenty of fish and making people happy.
Since last Monday things have really taken off. We have had days with 50 fish/30ish keepers, 40 fish/8 keepers, 100 fish/too many keepers to count, 18 Fish/6 keepers. Also included in that were 5 fish 40" + and another bunch in the 34" - 39" range.
I have days open this week due to cancellations on Wednesday and Friday with perfect morning tides! Even though the incoming has been fishing very well too, nothing is better than an AM outgoing. I even have the weekend open before I'm on a tear with a bunch of scheduled trips. Come fishing this upcoming week while the hot bite continues!
Tight Lines,
Capt. Chris
