Awwww finally got tight on the first fish of the season today! The boat has been in since May 1st but the weather has been uncooperative. After venturing out 5 times the last week and dealing with high winds, today finally allowed me to poke around and catch the first stripers of 2016, during slack tide none the less. A little schoolie to start us off, but this time of year size doesn't matter! Was able to spend some time on the water today and find some pockets of fish before my charters begin on Thursday. We found them up river, in the flats, and just missed out by 20 minutes early at another location! Get ready to book a Newburyport striped bass charter because any tide now it will explode!!
